Reason for the campaign

By participating in the campaign, you will support Pabade Bakery’s ability to buy new equipment & rent a larger kitchen which will allow them to expand their capacity & business offerings.

How it works

  1. Support business owners by contributing to their community campaign (5% of the capital they’ve requested).

  2. When the community campaign target is reached, business owners will receive the full amount of capital requested with Poder Capital providing the rest of the funds.

  3. Over time, typically between 1-3 years, business owners will repay all contributions.

  4. Once businesses complete repayment, community contributors get repaid.

Our Story

  • Born in Venezuela and raised in Colombia, the Carvajal siblings launched Pabade in East Harlem to bring together traditional European baking and (Latin) American desserts.

  • Inspired by his aunt’s delicious cooking, Yolfer Carvajal attended French-Jewish culinary school and moved to the United States to pursue his dream of baking professionally. In 2016, his brother Donny and sister Dahyanna joined Yolfer to launch Pabade as a wholesale bakery. The Pabade team sold a wide variety of baked goods out of East Harlem’s commercial space, Hot Bread Kitchen, for coffee shops in the New York City area.

  • While Donny and Dahyanna handled sales and logistics, Yolfer experimented with new ingredients and flavors—while keeping the company’s commitment to the best ingredients and freshest products.

  • In 2019, the trio opened a café on E. 110th St. and Lexington. Locals and visitors visit the cozy space to enjoy La Colombe coffee, warm conversation, and their new favorite pastry.

  • We’ve grown so much now that we are limited by our capacity. We share a kitchen and we need our own. Our equipment also limits us. The machines we have are not enough for what we need to do.

Business Success

  •  We sell European pastries with a Latino twist. People really like our treats.

  • 6 years in business

  • Last year, Pabade brought in over $700k in retail sales alone

  • Pabade has 22 wholesale clients and growing!
